ShopItUp Developers v1

Shopping API

Developer Terms

Version developer-terms-2026-10. These terms apply to anyone who uses the ShopItUp Shopping API or its MCP connectors ("the API") with credentials ShopItUp issued to them ("you"). By applying for or using credentials, you accept them.

What the API is for

Helping a person find, compare and buy items from stores on ShopItUp. You may show listings, prices, availability and store details to a person who is shopping, and send them to ShopItUp's checkout to pay.

What you may not do

  • Copy the catalogue in bulk, keep it beyond what you need to answer a person's request, or use it to build a competing marketplace or price database.
  • Show a price, availability or store detail as current when you know it is not, or change what ShopItUp returns in a way that misleads a person.
  • Take payment yourself, or present yourself as ShopItUp or as a store.
  • Share your credentials, or let anyone else use them. Keep your client secret on your servers, never in an app or a browser.
  • Get around the rate limits, or call the API in a way that harms its availability for others.
  • Use the API for anything unlawful, or for items the prohibited items policy does not allow.

A person's own information

When a person links their ShopItUp account to your app, you may use what they approved — their profile and sizes, saved address, orders — only to do what they asked, and you must handle it as privacy law requires. You must stop using it when they disconnect, and delete it when you no longer need it for their request.

Changes to the API

The API changes as described on Versions and changes: within a major version only additively, and anything that could break an integration announced ahead, with the old version kept working for the periods stated there. We tell the contact on your partner account.

Suspending access

We may limit, suspend or end your access — at once where there is a risk to people, stores or the service, otherwise with notice — if you break these terms, if your use creates risk, or if we stop offering the API.

No warranty

The API is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available but do not promise that it always will be. To the extent the law allows, ShopItUp is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. A new version is posted here with its date, and the contact on your partner account is told. Continuing to use the API after it takes effect means you accept it.
